MISSION

Empowering Inuit Identity

The mission of the Urban Inuit Identity Project is to educate health care, social service and educational facilities about the cultural uniqueness of our Inuit to provide culturally safe care, and support that empowers Inuit identity so that our Inuit will be fairly represented in the fabric of Canada’s social safety nets.

Consultation

UIIP can help your organization by helping to create framework that supports Inuit Identity, or by reviewing materials already in place, providing additional support materials from an Inuit lens and by joining stakeholders to discuss Inuit Inclusivity.

Education

UIIP can help your organization by providing live educational sessions with Q&A, power-point presentations, Offering a 4 part educational series through online platforms and recorded video materials. We also create 1 day workshops that include Level 1 and Level 2 of Inuit cultural awareness lessons.

Resource Support

UIIP can help your organization by providing the “Inuit Sharing Box” for schools, the “Inuk Box” for Inuk clients made for Friendship Centres or the “Inuit Box” made for hospital patients. They come with further resources and contains Inuit specific items from our Traditional Lands, and Water.
